The Women`s Health & Diversity Focus Group

The Women's Health and Diversity Focus Group facilitates residents in promoting women’s health and well-being to the rest of the student body at St Cat’s and applying these values to daily life. These are done through various activities:
  • Creating awareness of health mentally, physically, emotionally and sexually - this particularly stresses on informing residents of women’s health, their own bodies, exercise and good eating habits, the female cycle, and managing stress.
  • Giving guidance on where residents can get extra information or professional help when needed.
  • Encouraging residents to draw on their knowledge from different family/cultural backgrounds and university courses on women’s health and sharing this with the rest of the student body.
  • Encouraging residents to take up interactive and leadership roles among their fellow residents.

From a diversity perspecitive, The Women's Health and Diversity Focus Group consists of residents from St Cat’s who come from a wide range of ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds. We are aimed at investigating the different opinions, values and beliefs each individual has, both in college and the wider community, and how this knowledge can benefit our relationships with each other. This group is responsible for organising events which promote this increased awareness such as celebrating the different special days for religions and nationalities represented in the College.
